TCLP & SPLP Testing

Testmark offers specialized TCLP and SPLP sample processing.

Testmark has been providing Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) analysis since it came into effect under Schedule 4 of O. Reg. 558/00.

TCLP leaching is designed to simulate years of natural weathering and leaching that would occur in a typical landfill. The purpose of a TCLP test is to determine whether your waste is deemed hazardous in exceeding the allowable limits for regular waste disposal. We make data review easy by providing a quick visual comparison to the regulatory limits. In addition, our secure online data portal allows you access to sort, filter and view your data in real time as it becomes available.

In 2019, Ontario implemented the On-Site and Excess Soil Management Regulation (O. Reg. 406/19) which introduced another unique sample leachate procedure known as SPLP leachate (EPA Method 1312). The fluid used in this leachate procedure is meant to simulate the effect of acid rain. O. Reg. 406/19 provides clarity and direction to ensure excess soil generated from construction and earthmoving projects is properly managed.
